Explainer Videos Are The New Elevator Pitch

Explainer VideosEver heard of explainer videos? You’ve probably seen them before but link the name and what you’ve seen together. Explainer videos are online videos, posted on your home page on your website that explains, demonstrate, summarizes what your business does in less than 2 minutes usually about 90 seconds or less.

In the corporate world and traditional medias, the equivalent of explainer videos would be called a “tv ad”. In the acting and stunt industry, we call it our demo reel, which basically shows our potential future colleague what skills we possess and what we’re capable of.

Depending on what business you’re in, you might know them under something or similar but at the end of the day, the name is kind of irrelevant. The only reason you should know them as explainer videos is for internet related commercials.

Think of it as a beautiful visually presented video, combined with your elevator pitch. You know, your 90 second sales pitch that explains in a nutshell what you or your business does?

When you look online for a company that can create some explainer videos expect to pay roughly between $1,000 to $5,000 for something animated. Of course there’s no ceiling when it comes to spending but that’s a pretty reasonable budget.

If you’d like more information on explainer videos, you can check out a nice Wikipedia article related to that.

Explainer Videos Continued

That company is like a broker basically, they put your project in front of all the top explainer videos production company. The community of companies they have is hand selected to ensure top quality. Essentially the ones who bid are the top players in town.

Nothing stops you to do a Google search of “explainer videos” for more results.

Video Editing Software Free And Paid

Video Editing Software FreeBest video editing software free and paid! Yes, sometimes it’s better to use free tools so you can use your money and place it into advertising dollars.

In this article I’ll share with you the best video editing software, some free and paid ones, and I’ll also go over places where you submit your video.

We all know that more and more people want to connect with people they like and trust. And the best way to do this, is to show your face and talk to people, you’re fully transparent, got nothing to hide and you’re not hiding behind an obscure faceless article behind a blog.

First you need to record your video, it doesn’t have to be nothing fancy, camera cell phones are actually really good to start with or even a simple webcam.

Once that’s done now comes the best video editing software free. You can cut your bloopers out, add some text, music, etc.

Video Editing Software Free

If you’re on a Windows computer, then Movie Maker is the great place to start with. It offers you to put your videos in one place, trim the parts you don’t want and “stitch” the rest together so to speak.

On a Mac, their free video editing software is called iMovie which also allows you to do some pretty creative things. If you’re starting out, this simple interface will make it easy on you.

You can also use the Youtube video editor, it’s both free and also gives you some royalty free music that you can use in your videos.

Now if you feel like you want more advanced features Lightworks would probably be your next big bet. This best video editing software free was used in Hollywood blockbuster movies such as Pulp Ficion, Heat, The King’s Speech, etc. A little word of caution though, this is a super powerful video editing software with quite a hefty learning curve. If you’re brand new at video editing, then this might be too overwhelming.

Avid Is another professional tool that used a lot of movies, commercials, etc.

Sony Vegas I personally use this one because my friend was using this when we did our first movie. So I picked up on it and now that’s what I use.

Final Cut Pro This is one is for Mac.

Submit Your Videos

Once that’s complete you’ve got submit your videos on video sites such as Youtube, Vimeo, etc. If you want a list of more sites you can visit this link. I would recommend that you use this free video submitter called Oneload (formerly known as Tubemogul). It basically uploads your video to a bunch of video sites for you saving your valuable time.

If you are really serious about video submission and getting your work out there on the internet, then I would highly recommend you look into TrafficGeyser. It is a paid program but you get far more than what you pay for. Not only Traffic Geyser uploads your video to a tons more video sites, it also publishes and syndicate your content with a one push of the button.

CEO Mike Keonigs, author of the book “You Everywhere Now” goes as far as giving you a digital copy of his book. He’s got great information and awesome trainings. It’s so powerful that Traffic Geyser only services a handful of clients.

Video Marketing Tips To Brand Yourself

Video MarketingVideo marketing is a great strategy to connect with your audience. As a business owner is crucial that you promote your own business. Maybe your traditional media advertising is not working as much as you’d like or you just find to expensive compared to other options. This is where video marketing comes in. It’s currently a very effective method of promotion.

Before we get into some the tips, let’s debunk a “myth”: “I don’t have fancy equipment.” Look, you can spend thousands of dollars on fancy equipment and the latest technology, but unless you use it to create interesting and exciting content, who cares. To have a video go viral, the quality doesn’t matter. The most important element is the content. That’s right, content is always king! If your message is awesome, people will share it. So keep in mind to deliver great value.

Any camera and mic will do to get started. A cell phone can do the trick too. Just start giving value. Over time you can upgrade your equipment but don’t let that be a deterrent to get you started.

Video Marketing Tips

When you’re video marketing, keep in mind that most viewers have a short attention span so keep your video between 2 to 5 minutes and get to the point quickly. If you have so much information, break it down into a “mini series” and write something like: “Part 1 of 4”. It’ll be a lot easier for the viewer to digest it.

When you’re looking upload your videos, there are many sites available out there however Youtube and Vimeo are the most popular and if you just want to upload to one versus the other, my recommendation is Youtube. The reason for that is simple. Google owns Youtube and if you have videos on Youtube with specific keywords, well Google will favor that video in the search rankings.

You can create how to videos, tips and tricks videos, entertaining videos and really any genre you want but for business I’d stick with the educational and how to stuff. This helps you teach your customers how to use your products or services correctly while showing other potential prospects how well your products work.

Youtube has a great guide to show you how to get started call: “The Youtube Playbook”.

Side Note! Don’t spend to much time worrying about production value when it comes to generating video marketing content. There is more to a video than production value.

Be sure you optimize the videos you’re putting up. Especially if you when you upload videos to more than one site, you should have unique titles and descriptions for every one. Make sure you add in your keywords. Also include contact information or website as well, so customers can easily find you or contact you. Here’s an awesome free 25 minutes video that shows you how a corporate salesman figured out Youtube optimization and now gets about 33 leads per day for his home business.

Side Note! Instructional videos are very beneficial to video marketing campaigns. Allowing people to see how a product works can really add to their trust in you and the product in itself.

Although it’s important to create solid content, you should also make sure that people are aware of it. Keep in mind that after you have produced your videos, it’s important that you promote them. You can share them on social media sites or use pay per click to drive traffic to them. Of course when you do, you’ll notice you get a lot more attention and increased click-through rates.

Video marketing will allow you to establish rapport and connection with your audience much faster than just  a regular article. An other good way to use video marketing to its full advantage is to use traditional advertising methods to send traffic to your newer more engaging videos which then leads to an offer.

What about you, what kind of video marketing techniques will you use?
